Prof. Dr. Ir. Khin Ni Ni Thein
Prof. Dr. Khin Ni Ni Thein is the Secretary of the Water Advisory Group and Member of the National Water Resources Committee (NWRC) in Myanmar. She formerly worked for UNEP and UNESCO at the senior management level and is former Vice President of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). She has 37 years of experience in the water sector. Founded water related NGOs and Institutions; Water, Research and Training Centre (WRTC); Institute for Civil, Earth and Water Engineering (ICEWE); Water Mothers (WMs); and Ayeyarwady River Basin Research Organisation (ARBRO). Currently she teaches Water Ph.D. and Environmental Diploma courses at Yangon Technological University (YTU). Global community services include Steering Committee Member of the Global Water Partnership (GWP), Chamber Member of International Hydropower Association (IHA) and Board Member of IRAH, Fellow of the ASEAN Academy of Engineering and Technology (AAET), and Fellow of the Myanmar Engineering Society.
