Mr. Myo Thein

U Myo Thein was born in Belin Township, Mon State of Myanmar in 1970. He attended high school at Ahlone Township, Yangon. In 1996, He received Bachelor degree from Yangon Institute of Technology. After graduation, he joined Yangon City Development Committee as junior engineer and then promoted to Sub-Assistant Engineer and Assistant Engineer position in 1997. In 1999, he was selected as scholarship holder for post graduate diploma course which was organized by Rehovot Campus, Hebrew’s University of Jerusalem, Israel. And then, he took part as project engineer of water transmission pipe laying from Ngamoeyeik reservoir to Yangon. After that he got scholarship from German organization DAAD in 2003 to attend master degree program in University of Lueneburg, Germany. During his stay in Germany he was promoted to Executive Engineer in water supply division
of Engineering Department (Water & Sanitation), Yangon City Development Committee. In 2005, he got Master degree in Water Resource Management from the University of Lueneburg in Germany. He participated in the construction project of Ngamoeyeik water treatment plant and transmission pipe laying project. He was assigned as Head of Water Supply Division and promoted as Assistant Head of Department in 2010. He studied water supply services and distribution management in Japan. He attended international seminar, workshop and forum in Thailand, Singapore, and Japan..He joined World Water Week Forum in Stockholm, Sweden. In 2014, he was promoted to the position of Deputy Head of Engineering Department (Water and Sanitation) of Yangon
City Development Committee. Recently, He is joint-secretary of WATSAN Division in Myanmar Engineering Society and also the secretary of Yangon Region Water Management Committee.
